INSTRUCTOR:
JONATHAN JENNINGS

This presentation will be an overview of the climate crisis, an introduction to the new field of Planetary Health, and an introduction to Health In Harmony's pioneering planetary health work in Indonesia, Madagascar, and Brazil.

The world has always viewed the health of humans, ecosystems and the planet as independent entities but in reality they are all interconnected, they are all components of planetary health and are intrinsically intertwined. In this workshop you will learn some of the conceptual basics about the new discipline called Planetary Health, defined as the health of human civilization and of the natural ecosystems on which our health depends. You will also learn about Health In Harmony, a pioneering practitioner of planetary health in the rainforests of Indonesia, Brazil, and Madagascar.

What to bring:

  • An informational, supplementary PDF will be available to participants
