WATERCOLORS IN THE WILD:
Autumn Studies with Watercolor & Gouache — September 21, 2024

from $50.00

(ONLINE)

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2024
9:30am - 12:30pm PACIFIC TIME
VIA ZOOM (CLASS WILL BE RECORDED AND AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD AND WATCH INTO THE FUTURE!)

This class will share Andie’s tried and true painting techniques for capturing a sense of the wild complexity of the natural world. Working from live subjects, photos, looking out the window, or sitting outdoors, we’ll create a series of autumn studies together through a step-by-step sequence. We’ll mix colors, work wet into wet, and build luminous layers of watercolor to conjure up the particular magic of fall in our painting.

Also shared will be effective techniques for layering gouache (opaque watercolor), ink, and colored pencil within our work to add light over dark shapes and bright details.

Andie’s creative process is designed to deepen our connection to the natural world through careful observation and intuitive responses. Q&A will be encouraged. Participants will end each class with a series of painted studies for future reference and inspiration, along with tips for completion.

TUITION: $50 (plus processing fees)

NOTE: These classes are now a half hour longer than in the past. Even more time to spend creating!

We’d like everyone to have the opportunity to attend Andie’s classes.
